Dominion’s old freshman Imo Essien collapsed for unknown reasons in today’s game against Georgia Southern
– Chief Nerd (The Chief Nerd) January 8, 2023
No evidence Emo Essien collapsed from the vaccine melancholy!
It is now the norm for anti-vaccination activists to immediately blame all deaths or illnesses of athletes on the COVID-19 vaccine.
This is another example of Fake news Created and posted by anti-vaccination activists, here’s why…
Fact #1: Imo Essien did not lose consciousness
Despite suggestions that Imo Essien collapsed suddenly like Damar Hamelin, he never lost consciousness.
Old Dominion guard Imo Essien was on the defensive, when he suddenly stopped and sat down on the field, before slowly laying on his side. He seemed to be in great pain.
Medical staff from both teams rushed to take care of him. A few moments later, they helped Essien to his feet and he exited the field with their help.
He never lost consciousness, and was responsive throughout the incident according for his team. In fact, he sat on the bench for the rest of the game, returning to Norfolk with his team!
Fact #2: Imo Essien will be examined by a cardiologist
Old Dominium Monarchs coach Geoff Johns later revealed that Emo Essien had trouble catching his breath during the game, and was able to return to breathing normally before returning to the bench for the rest of the game.
He revealed that Essien’s vital signs were normal, and confirmed that the sophomore never lost consciousness. He also said that Emo Essien underwent a COVID-19 test after the accident, which came back negative.
He shared that Emo Essien was out of training with a non-COVID illness early last week, but recovered and had “great” training on the Wednesday before the game.
Imo Essien was removed from practice again on Monday, January 9, in order to meet a cardiologist to undergo tests and check-ups, to determine his next steps on the way back.
Note that this does not mean that Emo Essien had a heart attack like Damar Hamlin. Only a cardiologist can determine what happened that day after examining and running tests on it.

Fact #3: It is not known if Imo Essien has been vaccinated against COVID-19
Despite claims that he was “forced” to get vaccinated, it is currently unknown if Imo Essien has been vaccinated against COVID-19.
Emo Essien is a sophomore (second year) at Old Dominion University, which had a student vaccination mandate. However, this vaccine mandate was lifted on January 31, 2022.
Therefore, it is possible that Imo Essien, who would have been a freshman at the time, may not have been vaccinated because it was no longer required.
However, more than 97% of Old Dominion students were fully vaccinated before the mandate was lifted, with 99.7% of students on campus remaining fully vaccinated.
However, unless we know that Imo Essien has been vaccinated against COVID-19, it is wrong for anyone to blame COVID-19 vaccines for his “meltdown.”
Fact #5: Vaccine side effects Show up in hours/days
Even if Imo Essien had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, it is impossible for the COVID-19 vaccine to cause him to “collapse” because he would have had his doses at least 12 months ago!
He cannot be suffering from the side effects of the vaccine, because they appear in hours or days, not months later.
Mild side effects such as injection site pain, fever, muscle aches, headache, and lethargy develop within minutes to hours of vaccination.
The development of anaphylaxis within minuteswhile other severe adverse reactions such as myocarditis and VITT develop Within days.
And the spike proteins produced by COVID-19 vaccines don’t last for months. If these spike proteins were permanent (as the antivirals claim), we would have immunity for life.
Your immune system will identify the spike proteins as foreign, and smash them within days, although some may last up to a few weeks. This is part of how vaccines teach your immune system to recognize and destroy the enemy.

Fact #6: Claims by athletes who were infected by the COVID-19 vaccine have been proven false
This is another example of anti-vaccination activists misusing athletes’ deaths/injuries to create and propagate Fake news About the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines.
To date, claims about athletes’ deaths/injuries due to the COVID-19 vaccine have been proven false in each case.
Do these anti-vaccination activists apologize for lying to you? No! They’ll just move on to the next athlete’s tragedy…
